22″ Carbon Fiber Arrows / Bolts Review

Written By: andrew - Aug• 27•11

After testing the Barnett Quad 400 with many different arrows / bolts the conclusion is to go with Carbon Fiber as recommended. The several different types of 2219's did have success at fair flight and accuracy but the Carbon Fiber Arrows out preformed them. With a quad 400 you need 22" Arrows / Bolts with a moon nock. I purchased several of the "Heavy Hitters" "By Harvest Time Archery. Ohioduckman on eBay had the best price on the net and flethched to presicion. You can get 6 for 36.00 or more for a little less. Hitting the same hole at 75 yards will get your attention quickly when 2219's are inches apart. I do admit 2219's with a perfect fletch might meet the standards but in every situation we put them through the CF Arrows out preformed.

Using Lumenocks on them with Rage 125 grain Slip Cam Broadheads will make a perfect combo yet looking at a 26.00 shot can sometimes be daunting. Upside though with Lumenocks you are likely to find your arrow. Downside is if the mechanical broadhead gets destroyed your still out 12.00 unless you fix it.

Make sure when shooting the quad 400 or other 345 feet per second or better crossbows that you get a good target such as the Big Green Target or others that can stop the arrows. Arrows will fly right through foam targets and mess up your fletching.
