Virus Protection

Written By: andrew - Jan• 17•12

Lately I have been bombarded by viruses that people have brought in on their computers. The Microsoft security 2011 virus that acts like it is protecting your system is a hard one to get off. Once your computer is infected by a virus is such as that it is hard to make it secure where it will not come back again. nearly every virus leaves behind something that will harm your system or security. With that said I highly recommend a very good virus protection program. Microsoft has a very good free virus scanner called Microsoft security essentials. So far in my personal testing it has been very good. it has missed 1 virus on my home pc and a few customers have had a virus get past it. 99 percent of time it is because it is 1 of the viruses that you click on to make it activate. If you do get infected first run your Microsoft security essentials virus scanner. If that does not work you can use another program from Microsoft that works directly off of a web page. I would also run a program called malwarebytes. It is my highest rated anti spyware program available. The best part is that it is free also. If you cannot get the virus off by the 3 things mentioned here you need to investigate further or take it to a technician such as myself. always ask pricing before you take your computer to certain places. Best Buy charged one of my customers 200 dollars to take off a very simple virus. It could have been removed free of charge if they would have downloaded malware bytes. My typical charge is 25 dollars for a virus removal. Some viruses will leave your system so badly damaged that you will need to reinstall your operating system. Always keep your virus protection updated.

If your going to buy an Anti-Virus program I suggest Symantec.

Always keep a backup of your important data such as pictures.
