Dark Web and Abuse – What can be done?

As a computer tech I have seen the dark web a few times through the years to simply see what was going on in it which wasn’t much since I didn’t go far at all. Yesterday my mind was shattered on what was seen. I simply typed video in the search bar and instead of getting movies or youtube style videos there was nothing but child porn links. Recently I watched a video on Youtube from Sean Ryans channel focusing on a cyber security expert and what was out there on the net along with his gadgets for hacking. The conversation turned to the Dark Web and the amount of child abuse. The “hacker” / Security guru was saying how easy it was to find abusers yet no government agencies that would remove the sites.

I do not understand why there is not a specific agency for arresting people who put these sites online and everyone who visits them. Having our liberties under the constitution such as free speech is wonderful but these sites do not qualify for such. Anything in a different country can also be a delima to United States law enforcement. Not quite sure why the links are simply not blocked by keywords is my question because it isn’t that hard. China censors their citizens internet and yet the general public can find ways around it such as the Dark Web but the citizens face death to do so.

As seen in the screenshot below; if you type “how to turn in child abuse websites”, the search engines show abuse websites rather than how to remove them. I actually couldn’t find one way of submitting a complaint on all but one search engine. From a few hours of typing random words; there is roughly 25 sites that repeat everywhere you look. In a few of the search engines the top advertisements are for child abuse sites. Wording that makes your skin crawl. So even after attempting to get far from it and get back to the article making; more and more popped up. The fairly easy to find side of the Dark Web is simply Child abuse sites and drugs. There are several sites but after 5 minutes of reading and clicking you will end up at minimum seeing links to places that should not exist.

If we can travel around in space and call ourselves civilized; why can we not have more focus on home? If you see sites promoting or offering child abuse in any way, please see the sites below and do a search for more agencies. This should not be a topic. There are search engines with keyword protections but simply not enough. All I wanted to do was make a short video on the very basics of the Dark Web for some of the benefits of the way it works. However after trying to make a short video the plan was ruined since there where so many things that needed blurred out. It is certainly not for children and children should not be on it in video or pictures in any way.

If you choose to help submit these links to abuse sites, make sure not to visit the site. The site description, link, and Title is enough. Entering one of those sites is illegal and your IP will be recorded. Even with a VPN the ability of government access to the nodes are an immediate win for the prosecution.

To report an incident involving the possession, distribution, receipt, or production of child pornography, file a report on the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC)’s website at www.cybertipline.com, or call 1-800-843-5678. Your report will be forwarded to a law enforcement agency for investigation and action. If you have an emergency that requires an immediate law enforcement response, please call 911 or contact your local Police Department or Sheriff’s Department.
